This painting is modeled after our backyard garden in San Francisco. It's an unusually bright and summery spring day for our garden located on the southern slope of Mt. Davidson, the tallest peak in hilly San Francisco, where the fog rolls in in full force even on a spring day and mostly on summer days. So I just had to capture it on canvas while it lasts.
